Re-mounting Shared Folders on a Mac

Under some conditions your Mac laptop or desktop can lose the automatic connection to BSG-FS, removing your access to Live and your personal shared folder. This most commonly happens when:

  • you connect or disconnect a laptop from a docking station.
  • your Mac wakes up from sleep.
  • your Mac is not regularly re-started.

If you see this issue on a regular basis please raise a support ticket by emailing ict@bsg.ox.ac.uk

Resolution

  1. Open the 'Self Service' application from the "Applications" folder
  2. In the Categories box select on the Support link.
  3. Find the Mount Departmental Shares item, and select the MOUNT SHARES button.

  4. The shares will now be available in Finder.
