The printing service refers to the operation of follow-me printing service and the hardware printers, copiers and scanners, also known as Multi-Function Devices (MFDs). The service also includes the printer configuration of managed computers, and the configuration and support of the Print server software, also known as Papercut.
The service is provided free of charge to members of Faculty, Staff and Students, as well as sponsored visitors.
The Blavatnik School ICT Service Desk is the primary point of contact for this service.
The Facilites Helpdesk monitor and maintain consumables including toner, paper, toner waste and staples.
MFD/Printer hardware and supplies are maintained under contract by AltoDigital.
The service is designed to be available 24 x 7 x 365, however some service elements, for example toners & paper levels are monitored and maintained during core service desk hours. Availability refers to the overall service, rather than individual printers / MFDs.
Target Availability is 99.5%, as measured during core service hours.
