Mailbox Request

When requesting a new mailbox, please send an email to ictservice@bsg.ox.ac.uk, using one of the below underlined sentences as it’s subject. Information on what these different types mean is underneath.

Choose a type of mailbox from the below options:

  • Nexus mailbox without an SSO account – the default type when you only need to access the mailbox from Outlook. An SSO can be added afterwards if needed.
  • Nexus mailbox with an SSO account – If you need to login to the mailbox as a user, rather than just viewing the emails.
  • Nexus resource mailbox without an SSO account - Room or equipment.

The body of the request needs to have the following information:

Display Name:

Email Address: @bsg.ox.ac.uk

Account Visible in Gal:

Additional Delegated Access:

Information Descriptions

Account name:

This needs to be up to eight characters long, which will then be this mailboxes SSO.

Owners barcode number:

Can be found above the barcode of the chosen owner’s card.

Display name:

How the mailbox will appear in the Global Address Book. This will usually start with BSG to differentiate our department in the GAL. Please let us know if you wished for a different name.

Email Address: @bsg.ox.ac.uk

The email address you that you wish to use, must always end in @bsg.ox.ac.uk

Account Visible in the Gal: Yes/No Can the email address be searched for in the global address book? Note: we will need to turn this on whilst people add the mailbox to their email client. People can still save the email address in their contacts, so there is still chances of spam emails.

Additional users:

The Barcode or SSO of all those who need access to the mailbox.
