Connecting to the BSG VPN on a Windows computer

Once FortiClient is installed and configured, you can use it to connect to the BSG network from anywhere in the World. For the following steps you should not need administrative privileges, but if problems occur (like disconnection after 20-30 seconds), try running FortiClient with administrative privileges before assuming it is not working.

  • Open FortiClient (there should be a shortcut on your desktop and Start menu)

  • If not already selected, click on the drop-down menu to select the VPN you want to connect to
  • Type in your BSG username and password

  • Click Connect

  • The window will minimize when you have successfully connected

  • Double-click on the green shield icon to open the FortiClient window again

  • The FortiClient window will show you information about your connection like the IP address you are using inside the BSG network, the duration of your connection, and the traffic that has traversed the tunnel

  • Once you have finished using the VPN connection, click on Disconnect.
