MPP Timetable & Google Calendars

We have seen a few common problems when synchronising the MPP Timetable iCal feed with Google Calendars.

Google Calendar takes a long time to reflect recent timetable changes

Unlike most desktop or mobile calendar apps, Google Calendars does not give users an option to set a refresh cycle (e.g. 15 mins, hourly, daily) and it also doesn't give users an option to manually force a refresh or re-sync.

Please be aware that changes can take 24 hours to synchronise if you have subscribed to the MPP calendar through Google Calendar.

This can mean that short notice changes to the MPP Timetable may not be reflected in your Google Calendar.

Google Calendar does not update

There are two ways to import calendar items into Google Calendar

1. Import an iCal or CSV file 2. Synchronise an iCal / ICS feed.

Please make sure your Calendar is synchronised rather than imported, as importing creates a static one time copy of the timetable as it is on the day of import. There are instructions for synchronising the BSG Timetable here: Google / Android Calendar

Removing a Google Calendar Subscription

If you have any issues synchronising the MPP Calendar iCal feed with Google Calendar we recommend removing and recreating the subscription.

To remove a Google Calendar Subscription:

1. Click on the cog wheel icon

2. Select Settings

3. Click on the Calendars tab

4. Click on Unsubscribe

5. Confirm clicking on Unsubscribe
