About the ICT Team

The Blavatnik School ICT team is directly employed by the School to manage and carry out the following activities:

  • Operation of the ICT Service Desk, providing AV Support for Teaching, Research and Events (internal and external); and IT Support for Staff & Faculty, with some support for Students and visitors.

  • Operation & maintenance of BSG IT and AV infrastructure, directly through employed staff and management of 3rd party service contracts.

  • The development of IT and AV services and technologies as a strategic benefit to the School and wider University.

  • Support the development, assessment and adoption of innovative use of technology and practice to support the teaching, research and engagement objectives of the School.

  • Technical support during procurement, development and hosting operation of BSG or related websites. Note, Web development & direct support is carried out by 3rd parties.

  • Specialist IT and AV project resource for School projects through directly employed staff as well as through the sourcing and management of external specialist expertise when necessary.

  • Development of Policies and Processes relating to the use of IT and AV across the activities of the School.

  • Training and development for faculty, staff and students in the technical systems used in the School, as well as key ICT policies and processes, developed at BSG and the University of Oxford, including Information Security.

  • Development of the ICT Strategy and Function to respond to changes in the School’s overall strategy and changes resulting from the daily operations of teams around the School.
