Overview

For more general information of Follow Me printing, see Follow Me printing.

There are two Follow Me printers on Macs at the BSG: 'BSG Follow Me Colour' and 'BSG Follow Me Mono'. They are configured to print in colour and black/white respectively. Both are set to print double-sided (duplex) by default.

How to print in Mac OS X

  1. Open the Print window in the normal way for your application, eg. open the File menu and click Print.

  2. Click the drop-down next to 'Printer:' to open the printer list.

  3. In the list of printers you will see a number of Follow Me printers. There are two Follow Me printers to allow you to quickly select whether you want to print in colour or black and white (mono). The default is the Mono printer. Select your desired Follow Me printer.

  4. Set the number of copies and which pages you want to print.

  5. If you wish to specify additional printing options (such as multiple copies, printing one-sided, watermarking, stapling, booklet printing etc.), click Copies & Pages and select another page of settings from the menu.

    • To print single-sided, select 'Layout' then set Two-Sided 'Off'.
    • To print from the Bypass Tray, select 'Paper Feed' then set All Pages From 'Bypass Tray'.
    • To staple or punch, select 'Printer Features', Feature Set 'General 3'
    • To add a watermark, select 'Printer Features', Feature Set 'General 4/5'

  6. Click Print to send the print job to the Follow Me printer.

  7. Move to the printer you want to print from, then swipe your University card on the reader.

  8. You will see your list of print jobs. Tap an individual job to show information on that job and options to print or delete it. Alternatively tap 'Print all' to release all jobs.

  9. Tap exit to log off from your job list.

Troubleshooting Follow Me printing in OS X

Q. I don't have the Follow Me printers. How can I install them?

  1. Open the Self Service application (available from Launchpad or Applications).
  2. Click the 'Printers' category.

  3. Click the Install button next to 'Install BSG Follow Me printers' and wait for the progress bar to complete.
