High Volume print runs

The School’s estate of printers is selected to provide good quality office printing, and is not scaled for large or commercial print runs, for example, conference brochures, fliers etc. The printers and finishers are also not intended for high quality jobs such as photo printing or high quality posters.

Using the School’s printers for large runs, particularly of glossy materials can be highly disruptive to other users as;

  • Printers are unavailable to other users for long periods during the long run.
  • Printers / components fail when jobs regularly exceed the printers designed capacity, often resulting in smudges or lines on printed pages, or completely failed printers until an engineer can attend site.
  • Large print runs quickly drain available toner and paper.

In addition, it is likely to be much cheaper to run large, colour print jobs through a commercial reprographics provider.
